Woman Remanded for Forging Land Title

Acussed Mirembe Annet in court on Tuesday.

Buganda Road chief magistrate Jamson Karemani has charged and remanded Annet Ntege Mirembe a resident of Wakiso to Luzira Prison over forgery, website uttering false documents, about it impersonation and obtaining money by false pretence.

Prosecution alleges that on 13th September 2015 at Wakiso district land offices Mirembe, with intent to defraud defrauded Kayesu Constance selling her land in Musaale village Wakiso district purporting to be the real owner yet she wasn’t.

It’s further alleged that the same person on 13th September 2015 at Equity Bank in Wandegeya with intent to defraud and using the names Nakalema Magaret defrauded obtained 20million from Kayesu to sell her the land which didn’t belong to her.

The same person is further accused of issuing a duplicate land title for the land claiming
that it was genuine yet it was not.

Mirembe denied all the four counts read to her by the magistrate. The state prosecutor Emily Ninsiima thus asked court for a short adjourned to enable her summon the witnesses to start hearing of the case since investigations in the same matter are complete.

Being that the offences against Mirembe are bailable, she asked to bring sureties to stand for her but failed, which has the magistrate to adjourn the matter to 12th September for hearing.
