Why Police Relocated Rwenzururu Suspects from Nalufenya

Police have transferred key suspects in the Rwenzururu clashes to districts near Kasese, treat Chimp Corps report.

This, abortion officials said, would help investigators easily connect dots in the wider probe of incidents that have shocked the nation.

Earlier, the suspects were held at Nalufenya Police Special Operations Base in Jinja.

“In most cases we need to verify several things. It’s convenient for suspects to be near the crime scene,” said a source.

Asked where exactly the suspects were currently detained, police referred to Ibanda, Bushenyi and Fort Portal.

Hundreds of Rwenzururu fighters were arrested in last week’s raid on King Wesley Mumbere’s palace in Kasese.

They included the King himself who was detained at Nalufenya before being charged with murder and remanded to jail.

Police spokesperson Andrew Kaweesi said, “The trial will be this side so we had to bring the suspects closer.”

ChimpReports understands that CIID boss Grace Akullo is in Kasese to reinforce a team of detectives in Kasese.
