The Rwanda National Football team coach Antoine Hey has said that his side is highly motivated and ready ahead of their first leg tie in Uganda.
Speaking upon the team’s arrival at Entebbe International Airport today morning, the Belgian said:
“We have been training hard over the past days and the players are looking very focused and motivated; I have a very young team that will be interesting to see play against Uganda and let’s see if they can make history.”
Rwanda team plays on artificial turf back in Nyamiramho, but they picked a result in Tanzania to knock them out over two legs to book this date with Uganda, and Hey believes that his side will qualify to CHAN for a third time.
“We played in Tanzania on natural grass though it was a difficult match against them but we succeeded in the end,” he said.
“And now Uganda is up next which according to the FIFA rankings are the strongest in the CECAFA region and it will be a difficult duel that we are ready for.”
The coach added that they need a good result here to have everything in their own hands before their second leg tie in Kigali where people are always excited to watch their team.
The team is now camping at Imperial Resort Hotel in Entebbe and will have a training session today evening at Kisubi technical playground.
