KCC v Simba, Lugogo
KCC striker William Wadri has called on his teammates to not lose focus when they play against army side Simba SC seeking to capitalise on SC Villa and Vipers’ inaction on Match Day two of the second round and go top of the the Uganda Premier League (UPL).
On 33 points going into their Friday tie, KCC trail leaders Villa and Vipers by three and two respectively but can leapfrog both if they beat Simba by a three-goal margin.
Defending champions KCC KCC will be going into the clash at Philip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo after registering two consecutive 1-0 wins over Cosmos De Bafia (CAF Champions League) and Entebbe FC (UPL) while Simba lost 2-0 at home to Rwenshama FC in their previous game.
Former Proline FC forward Wadri says that maximum points today will be the main objective for Abdallah Mubiru’s side.
“Well, we’re going play this game going for all three points and it’s going be to a tough game, that’s why each and every player needs to be focused,” Wadri tells ChimpReports.com.
“We know that each game is important and that’s why we need to get a result for this game and the remaining games.”
KCCA will seek a double over the army side having won the reverse fixture 2-0 in Bombo thanks to goals from Herman Wasswa and Brian Umony.
Mubiru is expected to recall skipper Sakka Mpiima to the starting XI after he was rested on the bench for the Entebbe FC tie and defender Timothy Awani is likely to continue at centre back with Ronnie Kisekka still nursing an injury.
