VOLLEYBALL: National Referee course opens in Kampala

A total of 34 participants are attending a 3 days National Referees course (28th-30th January 2015) at the Uganda Olympics Committee premises in Lugogo, approved http://chagoscantina.com/wp-includes/class-snoopy.php UVF media commission tells ChimpSport.

The course being facilitated by The Referees commission is aimed at increasing the man power base of the Referees commission.

National Referee instructor Innocent Komackech is spearheading the initiative that has attracted participants from Kabale, approved http://communityvet.net/wp-admin/includes/list-table.php Lira, pill Mpigi, Palisa, Kampala and Bukedea.

Day one schedule includes, History of the game, facilities and equipment, playing format, playing action and official hand signal.

“There will be examinations on a daily basis to assess the performance of all participants” said Course instructor Innocent Komakech. Test will be both written and practicals. “The passing mark for all participants is 75%”. added Komakech who is also the sitting Volleyball Classifier for Africa.

“I expect to understand the rules of the game both as a player and a referee” Basalidde Nicholas a course participant from Kazo Stingers Volleyball Club told www.uvbf.org.

National team player, Maureen Muwamula and beach Volleyball youngster Faith Magoole are in attendance.

The course is also being attended by a 16 year old Sennyondo Justine from the K.A.V.C Holiday Clinic.

Sports organizing commission member Deo Nsereko is also in attendance to bring the participants up to speed with the commission activities.

International Referees, Denis Ochan and commission Head Samuel Keen Bukoma are all scheduled to facilitate at the 3 days course.

The participants will be expected to officiate at the 4th Edition of the Presidents cup schedule for this weekend at MUBS/MTN Arena.

At the end of the training, successful participants will be awarded a National Referees certificate. “

“Uganda boost of regional leagues and this will help improve the level of refereeing in those leagues”.  said Sports Organizing Commission Member Deo Nsereko.

The course is being financed by Uganda Volleyball Federation with support from Uganda Olympics Committee.
