Villa Take Cup Campaign To Jinja

Eight time Uganda cup champions SC Villa make a short trip to Eastern Uganda to face off with BUL Fc in the first leg of their semifinal fixture.

Both teams come into the fixture after winning both their quarter finals on away ground. BUL Fc beat Bright stars at the Champions stadium in Matugga by 2-1 with the two goals from Hood Mayanja and a last minute winner from Milton Kalisa.

SC Villa needed an extra time penalty from Isaac Muleme to see off stubborn SC Victoria in Namboole.  The two teams have already met twice in the league this season with both fixtures ending in a 0-0 and 2-2 draws respectively.

Bul eliminated their semifinal opponent in the round of 32 last year through spot kicks after a one all draw. BUL Fc Star goalie Oringa Franco saving two penalties to win 4-2. They were later removed by big league side Jinja Municipal. This is the first time the hosts play in the semifinal of the league while villa will be looking to get to their 10th final.

Interim Coach Mutyaba is expected to keep his squad that started against Sadolin in the derby with star man Milton Kalisa starting from the bench as usual. For Villa on form striker Eminayo is expected to start upfront with Erisa Ssekisambu and Bengo providing support while last year finalist(with KCC) and Keeper Ssebwato will have to be on his best to stop the attacking trio of Hood Mayanja, pills Kalisa and Asiku.

The return leg will be played on Sunday 3rd April at Nakivubo stadium with the aggregate winner progressing to the finals.
