Most articles note that the 1994 title decider between SC Villa and Express stood above all in the history of the fiercest derby both on and off-pitch in the country.

In that game many scribes point out the masterpiece technical decision by SC Villa assistant coach Paul Hasule (RIP) to play out of form striker Ibrahim Kirya as a defender, pills http://curcumincapsules.art14london.com/wp-admin/includes/class-bulk-plugin-upgrader-skin.php whose job was well cut out– to track down Express fc and Uganda’s most on-form striker Fred Tamale.

By then Express had accumulated 65 points from 27 outings while their rivals were second on the table with 64 points. Express needed only a draw to clinch title while Villa who came as underdogs had a mountain task of getting an outright win.

But away from the Hasule-Kirya decision and Ssemogerere’s penalty miss, approved http://cherrylanefarms.com/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/ajax/module.ajax.php one man may perhaps go unnoticed for his contribution in that particular match-the Legendary Paul Mutakabala.

He recounts (to ChimpSports) some of his best derby memories.

“My best derby moment has to be 1994 SC Villa vs Express at the Masaka Recreation ground in the league decider in the 2nd round. With Villa only needing a draw to win the title and Express in a must win situation to have any hopes of taking the title, sale ” he begins.

“This match remains my best derby highlight with perhaps the 6-0 mauling of KCC in Masaka as well in the league in 1992 when Magid Musisi scored 4 goals another derby highlight.”

“Express missed an early penalty, their Captain George Ssemwogerere blazed it over the bar! Later in the second half we (Villa) punished them  for it. I got the ball from the midfield, beat several Express defenders, laid on the ball to our overlapping left-back Simon Ssemwogerere on the edge of the box. He fired in an unstoppable shot beating Abu Kigenyi in the Express goal!”

“That goal sent the jogoos into frenzy, jubilation that lasted a whole week.  Masaka road has never witnessed so many vehicles like there were that day of fans from both teams travelling to and from Masaka for that game.”

Paul Predicts:
Remember Paul the Octopus?
“Personally I think it will be a draw. Express is on form, but the ‘new man in charge’ at club syndrome, we’ve seen it all before help lift players, may motivate Villa players. Kirya and Bbosa are two of the best coaches at motivating players.”- Paul Mutakabala sums it up.

Mutakabala will be the main pundit for Fufa FM as they relay the game live from Nakivubo stadium.
