Venue for Uganda Cup Final Confirmed

FUFA president is expected to leave the country on Tuesday for Zurich, thumb Switzerland for the 65th FIFA Congress scheduled for Thursday 28th and Friday 29th.

The president will be escorted by his first Vice president Justus Mugisha and Fufa CEO Edgar Watson Ssubi whose full bills will be cleared by the international body.

Ahead on the agenda at Zurich will be the Fifa presidential elections where all the 209 member countries are expected to cast three votes each through their delegates.

The incumbent president Sepp Blatter is expected to win again after two of his opponents, Portugal football legend Luis Figo and and Dutch FA president Michael Van Praag withdrew from the race. Blatter will face off with Prince Ali Bin Hussein of Jordan who expects to get more votes in Europe.

CAF president Issa Hayatou, pledged Africa’s full support for the 79 year old Swiss national who has been at the helm of world football since 1998.

Fufa president has already declared in public that he and his delegates will vote for the controversial incumbent whose reign has been battling endless accusations of corruption recent ones being the bidding process for the 2018 and 2022 world cups to be hosted in Russia and Qatar respectively.

“Uganda will vote for FIFA president Sepp Blatter. I have been contacted by Luis Figo and the Prince about their interests to contest the elections but as an executive we have made our decision to vote for Blatter,” Magogo was earlier quoted in a press conference

The 209 member associations include 54 countries, 53 from Europe, 46 from Asia, Ocenia (11) and 10 from South America. All delegates will receive approximately Ushs. 3.25 Million for ‘participation’ on top all other expenses that will be catered for by FIFA.
The much awaited venue for the Uganda Cup final has now been confirmed. The FUFA competitions committee has confirmed that Kyamate Sports ground in Ntungamo Municipality will be the host venue for the final to be played on Saturday 6th June 2015.

The finals will pit two eight time champions, buy more about Kampala city Council Fc and SC Villa, who are both seeking for silverware after losing out on the league title to vipers SC.

KCC Fc qualified to the final after edging out Lweza 1-0 score line in both legs (2-0 aggregate) as SC Villa replicated the same result against Jinja-based side BUL Fc.

The Fufa director of competitions Mr. Ali Mwebe confirmed the development encouraging members and stakeholders to support the people of Ntungamo in order to make the match a success.

“We shall release all details about the build up to the cup final on Wednesday at our weekly press conference.

Let us join hands in supporting the people of Ntungamo to organize a successful and colorful Uganda cup final.” He told FUFA media

The winner of the match will represent Uganda in the CAF confederations cup early next year. URA FC are the defending champions but were ejected by KCC FC earlier on.
