The Annual International Conference on Technology and Management has commenced Monday at the Silver Springs Hotel in Kampala.
The two day forum organized by Uganda Technology and Management University (UTAMU) is themed ‘Improving Service Delivery through ICT Governance and Management Revitalization.’
Delegates including practitioners, site http://circleofliferediscovery.com/blog/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/3.2.1/jetpack.php academicians as well as students from across Africa will deliberate and exchange knowledge on harnessing ICT to enhance better management and public service delivery.

Asked to comment on the government in Uganda’s utilization of these new technologies, http://cogocapital.com/lp/wp-content/plugins/thrive-visual-editor/landing-page/templates/phonic-bonus-episode-optin.php Prof. Basheka said; “The government hasn’t fully embraced ICT however much the policy framework is in place. The problem lies in implementation. There’s also poor coordination between government agencies for example National Information Technology Association (NITA- U), Uganda Communication Commission (UCC) and Ministry of ICT.”
He also observeD that despite of the available new media platforms, government online communication is still wanting.
Prof. Dr. Henk G. Sol from University of Groningen, Netherlands who gave a key note challenged the academia to undertake research and create solutions in areas of agricultural information services, disaster preparedness, health as well as governance.
“We must begin to focus on issues that matter. But such sustainable initiatives require incentives for both public and private sectors.
Some of these technological innovations have been successful in other countries. Uganda can replicate them here,” Dr. Henk said.
The Conference was officially opened by Prof Fredrick Kayanja UTAMU’s Chairman of Council who also launched the International Journal of Technology and Management, an online resource center for publications from scholars across the globe.
