URA FC Confirm 2017 Mapinduzi Participation

As local topflight league teams take an early Christmas break, diagnosis giants URA FC stepped up their preparations on time for the upcoming 2017 Mapinduzi Cup tournament.

The tax collectors are the tournament’s defending champions after seeing out Tanzania’s Mtibwa Sugar FC 3-1 in a classy final at the Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar early in January.

The team returned to training and is currently pitching camp at their training ground in Homesdallen, erectile Gayaza and are expecting to depart after Christmas.

“URA FC has this morning (Wednesday) started intensive training at Homesdallen, rx Gayaza ahead of 2017 Mapinduzi Cup scheduled to start on 02nd January 2017 in Zanzibar,” an official communication read in part.

It adds, “A contingency of 25, 18 players and 7 team officials will set off from Kampala on December 28th 2016.”

Dethroned Kenya Premier League champions Gormahia FC are the other foreign team that has confirmed participation in the cup.

The four time league winners ended their first leg with a hard fought 1-0 victory over league leaders KCCA FC courtesy of Peter Lwasa’s late strike.

They are currently sixth on the league table with 22 points from four wins and ten draws.
