UPL Fines Police for ‘Rough Play’

Uganda police FC have been handed a fifty thousand shillings fine for accumulating more than three cautions in their premier league match against URA football club.

The match that was played on Tuesday 25th October at the Mekhta stadium in Lugazi ended goalless.

Therefore in accordance with article 20(5) of the Fufa competitions rules, Police have been fined 50 UAs (Ushs 50,000) which is to be paid before their Saturday clash against Kirinya Jinja SSS FC at Kavumba grounds.

Failure to pay the amount means the five players will not be eligible to feature in the match and any other subsequent fixtures irrespective of the number of cards earned so far.

The result lifted Police FC to the 13th place with eight points, one above the relegation zone while URA cling on fifth with twice as many points.
