UPDATE: Chained Youths Case Flops

In March, these youths chained themselves on poles protesting Besigye's house arrest

Hearing of the case in which seven people are charged with unlawful society has flopped due to the absence of the trial magistrate.

The seven youths were arrested after participating in a campaign which they described as “Free Dr Kiiza Besigye” in which they chained themselves on poles on various Kampala streets.  They were remanded to Luzira and later released on bail.

Today the prosecution side was expected to start with its witnesses but the state prosecutor informed Buganda road grade one magistrate Marion Mangeni that the trial magistrate Kamasanyu Gladys was away on other official duties thus requesting for an adjournment. The hearing of this case was thus adjourned to 30th May 2016.
