Uganda National Roads Authority Executive Director, Allen Kagina, has Friday flagged off new equipment purchased by the Authority to help in boosting road maintenance activities across the country.
The function was held today at UNRA’s station in Mpigi district.
The equipment, which were acquired by UNRA include water trucks, crane trucks and fuel trucks.
“The equipment is going to boost UNRA”s road maintenance programme across the country through supporting operations like transportation and installation of culverts, bridges e.t.c,” UNRA officials said.
“The fuel trucks will deliver fuel in bulk to Ferries and Stations in areas with no refilling points while the Water trucks each with capacity of 15,000 litres , twice that of the old ones will be used in controlling dust, compaction, fire prevention and water supply to sites.”
