The body hopes the fleet of trucks will not only help in road maintenance but also expand the scope and reduce on the time it takes so as to take good care of a growing network and rising population.
The vehicles will be used in dumping of murram on roads, transporting culverts, aggregates, hard core and other road materials; Transporting asphalt and road signs, as well as ferrying firewood for preparation of asphalt.
Capacity: The capacity of each truck is 15Tons. This is twice the capacity of the small old trucks (7Tons)and this therefore reduces the haulage frequency when dumping murram.
Differential Lock. It has been incorporated with differential lock that works like four wheel drive when driving in Mud and Hilly areas.
Air inflation system. In case of a puncture it has a self air-inflating system.
Inbuilt accommodation. It has a decker in the cabin with one bed hence it can accommodate the driver in case need arises.
