The African Climate Reality Project (ACRP) in conjunction with Kiboga District local government have conducted a sensitization dialogue ahead of the COP22 in Kiboga District.
The dialogue aimed to mobilize and empower local people to actively participate in implementing the Paris agreement, check drawing the attention of leaders to the demands of people in COP22 and beyond.
It was also aimed at equipping people with skills of reducing vulnerability and building resilience within communities, sickness households and individuals.

He reminded that COP22 represents a unique chance to put the nexus between climate change and sustainable development on top of the agenda in Africa and to encourage meaningful conversations around implementation in our country.
Mugerwa advised Uganda to adopt the African Climate Reality Project’s big five green asks for the climate in Africa which include; Fossil free energy for all, Climate justice, Climate smart, transport and buildings, Sustainable agriculture, forestry and land management, and Key resources for mitigation and adaptation.
Participants were expected to recognize Pre-COP22 and Post-COP22 involvement to teach our communities on ways to adapt and mitigate the impacts of climate change.
