President Museveni has heaped praises on the Uganda People’s Defence Forces which he said is now stronger than ever before and can help fight the country’s enemies both within and outside.

Addressing  supporters at a rally held at the Boma Grounds in Gulu municipality on Saturday afternoon, doctor http://dan.rabarts.com/wp-includes/class-walker-comment.php the president said, nurse before, other countries used to despise Uganda but this is no longer the case.

“Some time back, my brother Bashir(Sudan president) used to come and bomb Moyo in Uganda and go back to Sudan, but by then we had guns that could only shoot a short range of 3 km,” Museveni said on Saturday.

“Right now we are well off and he cannot attack us anymore because even if he is  40,000 ft up, we can get him. The priotization policy has helped us do all the things we want. The NRM is now sowing what they planted as people have now realized we were serious and reliable on what we told them.” he added.

The president said that the amount collected in form of taxes has also increased from shs5bn to shs 13,000bn which he said has partly contributed to the growth and development of the country.

He noted that despite having a big revenue collection and the country being able to do everything it wants, this can only be done through prioritization or else nothing would be achieved.

“We are experts in starting small and becoming big and any body who knows Uganda’s history is aware of this. There  is nothing we cannot do now but this can only be successful through prioritization .Many people who don’t know what we are doing will keep on telling you  how we have not done this and that but just ignore them.”

He added,” They talk of the veterans debt but they don’t know it was big and we managed to reduce it. Soon it will be done but not in one year because due to the prioritization policy, we have to first deal with issues that affect all people at the same time like roads and electricity.”

Museveni  said government has been able to put in place infrastructure like roads, health facilities, dams courtesy of the  system of singling out the priorities and deal with them before others adding that it has been a success.
