Uganda Slip in December Rankings

Federation of International Football Associations, order FIFA, has released the nations ranking for the month of December/January.

AFCON-bound Uganda Cranes have dropped one place to 73rd worldwide and 18 in Africa. The team accumulated 476 points, shedding off fourteen from the previous.

The rankings will be used to grade the countries ahead of the 2019 Africa cup of nation’s qualifier draws.

AFCON 2017 Group D opponents

Senegal and Ivory Coast go to the finals in Gabon as the top most ranked teams while Zimbabwe is the only country in Gabon below the 100 mark. Uganda’s group D opponents Egypt, third in Africa, are ranked 35th in the world after climbing one place.

Ghana have slid one place down to 54 and 9 in the continent while Mali are 64.

Nigeria, 50, and South Africa (60) are the highest ranked teams not taking part in the Gabon Finals
Globally, Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Chile and Belgium maintain the top five positions respectively.
