The Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda, information pills there http://danmarknorge.org/wp-admin/includes/meta-boxes.php has hailed the establishment of an industrial Park in Kapeeka-Luwero district, sickness more about saying it will benefit the economic and trade cooperation between Uganda and China.
One of the 50 enterprises in the first rural industrial park will be an automobile assembling plant.
The Prime Minister, nurse more about who was meeting a Chinese Liaoning delegation, added that the development of the park will speed up the industrialization processes of Uganda, create jobs, increase tax revenue and promote economic prosperity.
The delegation which met the Prime Minister last week, was led by the vice governor of Liaoning Province of the People’s Republic of China, Gang Rui.
The concept to establish the industrial park was first mooted to government in 2013 by Bing Zhigang.
The project was approved by the Ministry of Finance and the Liaoning Provincial Bureau of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation.
Rugunda informed the delegation that Uganda was getting low value from exporting raw materials.
‘The establishment of an industrial park in Kapeeka will help Uganda to add value and consequently get more Foreign Exchange,” he said, adding, ‘This is the beginning of the cooperation in promoting Uganda from agriculture to industrial stage.”
He congratulated the Chinese Government for having one of the fastest growing economies in the world. ‘When you bring industrialization in Africa, you bring development and therefore government will definitely support your effort,” he said.
Describing their investment as a starting point of cooperation with Uganda, Gang Rui informed the Premier that Liaoning Province was determined to develop stronger ties with Uganda. He said Liaoning has the largest variety of manufacturing industries in China.
The Uganda – Liao Shen Industrial Park in Kapeeka was commissioned by President Museveni.
The project is co-invested and managed by Zhong Da Group and Zhang’s Group.
According to the park’s investment manual, the project will cost about 600 million US Dollars.
Infrastructure construction at the site will be complete by the end of the year to pave way for the first 10 enterprises. These will include an automobile assembling plant and agro-processing, among others.
The meeting was attended by the Minister for General Duties Professor Tarsis Kabwegyere, State Minister for Higher Education, Science, Technology and Sports, Professor Tickodri Togboa and the Permanent Secretary Office of the Prime Minister, Christine Guwatudde Kintu.
