Shooting guard Ivan Muhwezi put up a stellar performance scoring 16 points which was a game high while  Elvis Ssentongo and Matthew Ochieg contributed 14 points apiece to guide Uganda past Benin.

In the other group B games played, Egypt who already qualified for the quarter final stage cruised past Tunisia 73-53 while debutants DR Congo qualified into the last eight despite losing 83-75 to Angola who also booked their berth into the quarters.

With Egypt, Angola and DR Congo confirming progress to the next level, it means there is one slot left to fight for between Zimbabwe, Tunisia and Uganda to complete the four teams that must qualify from Group B.

Uganda still has to play against Zimbabwe and Tunisia.
