Uganda Lauded for Support to Japanese Troops in S. Sudan

Japanese Defence Councilor and Deputy Director General at the Japan Ministry of Defence, tadalafil Yasunori Nishida has commended Uganda’s role in promoting peace and security in Africa as well as its support to Japanese peace keeping troops who have been serving under the United Nation Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).

Nishida was Friday meeting Uganda’s Minister of State for Defence – General Duties, order Col (Rtd) Charles Engola at the Ministry’s headquarters in Mbuya.

The two delegations discussed and explored areas of possible cooperation between Uganda and Japan in the areas of defence as a way of broadening current fields.

Cooperation between Uganda and Japan has been and continues to grow stronger with more partnerships struck between the two states.

Last week, discount Museveni commissioned over 100 road construction equipment from Komatsu in Japan to be distributed to all districts in the country.

The Friday meeting was also attended by the Deputy Chief of Defence Forces Lt Gen Wilson Mbadi and the Joint Chief of Staff Maj Gen Joseph Musanyufu.
