Uganda Cup: Nsibambi Lifts KCCA as Penalties Decide Round 32

Uganda’s lady volleyball Cranes have been dumped out of the Women’s African  Olympic Qualifiers in Yaonde Cameroon. The cranes failed to win any of their three Group A scheduled games.

The first match of Day 3 presented a chance for the Ugandans to at least finish third and thus qualify for a qualification game. The coach Tony Lakoni’s side started well leading Botswana 16-15 by the second time out of the first set before going on to claim their first (set) of the tourney 25-22.

Botswana rebounded in style with stronger attacks winning the successive sets 25-21 and 25-19. Uganda bounced in the fourth set with a whooping 25-10 score to force the game into a tie breaker where they narrowly lost 15-11 after leading the better parts of the set.

Mary Gasekgonwe led Botswana scorers with 17 points , viagra approved while Peace Busingye led Uganda with 8 points. Botswana thus finished the pool matches with 1-2 record to finish third ahead of Uganda

In the other matches, Kenya defeated Cameroon 3-1 (25-22, 25-23, 20-25, 25-9). They lead pool A with 6 points followed by Cameroon 2 points and Tunisia 1 point.

The Kenyans will face Egypt as Algeria play Cameroon in the semi finals. Only one slot is available for the Rio Olympics while the second and third teams get a chance to compete in intercontinental qualifiers.
KCCA FC are through to the last 16 of the 2016 Uganda Cup competitions following a hard fought 1-0 win over Jinja based giants Sadolin Paints FC on Sunday 14th at the Bugembe Stadium in Jinja. Derrick Nsibambi nodded in the lone goal in the 23rd minute from Dennis Okot cross from the right flank.

Cooking oil makers Bul FC had to rely on post match penalties and a moment of confussion to eliminate The Saints Fc 5-4. The two sides played to a goalless draw after normal time.

Bul scored through Ssempira, online Walulya, what is ed Kasibante, medicine Kibande and Keeper Salim Wekiya while Mukisa and Mukobe blasted the top bar. Senfuka, Agandu, Sebuguzi and Mugabi were successful for Saints.

Trouble came in Saints 7th penalty when Marlon Tangawuzi stepped up to take his shot. The player dummied Salim who fell down before he scored only for the centre referee Ali Bakisula to cancel the goal, handed the player a yellow card and denied the team to replay the penalty.

In the other games played, Maroons fc replicated their form in Lira over week ago, beating Amuria Crane city fc 4-1 in penalties after a barren draw.
