In today’s episode, we look at the different winners of the competition since inception in 1971 up to date.
Coffee Football club known for their financial muscle, had a string side that brought success to the team and among the honors that the club won was the maiden Uganda Cup(popularly known as Kakungulu Cup) in 1971.
A period of political turmoil saw the competition take a temporary 4 year leave and later returned in 1976.
Since then, several teams have gone on to win the prestigious title with Express being the record champions (10 times).
However, it is KCCA FC that has played more finals than any other side (16 times) but has managed to win just eight.
