Uganda vs Madagascar
Wednesday, 4th October
With a few days to the highly anticipated crucial tie against Ghana, Uganda Cranes are in high preparations to make sure they fine tune themselves before Saturday.
After days of rigorous training, the team will have a build up game against Madagascar this Wednesday at Startimes stadium, Lugogo.
Interim head coach Moses Basena is aware about the importance of the Ghana game if Uganda is to keep it’s World Cup dreams alive and thus believes the friendly game against Madagascar will help in painting a clear picture of his team.
“We have been training over the past days but testing ourselves against a team like Madagascar will give us a better picture of what we have done or not done so far,” he said.
“The morale in the camp is high and everybody has the belief, so we are only waiting for the game,” Basena added.
The team was boosted with the arrival of midfielder William Luwagga Kizito who jetted in the country on Tuesday and joined the camp at Sky Hotel in Naalya.
Team captain Dennis Onyango is expected to join the team on Wednesday but will not be considered for the friendly against Madagascar.
Uganda occupies second position in group E of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers with seven points, two behind Egypt.
Ghana are third with five points while Congo Brazzaville sit rock bottom of the table with just one point.
