Uganda Cranes Resume Training

Uganda Cranes in training on Sunday at Philip Omondi Stadium

Uganda national football team, the cranes resumed training on Sunday evening with a light session at Phillip Omondi stadium.

The team that came back from South Sudan on Saturday, returned to serious business in preparation for the return leg this weekend.

The cranes drew goalless against the Bright Stars of South Sudan on Friday in the first leg of the 2018 Championship of African Nations (CHAN).

Head coach Milutin Sredojevic “Micho” believes his team still has the possibility to advance if they rectify the few mistakes they had in the first leg.

“We have resumed training today so that we prepare early enough for the return leg. We only need to work on a few things because we almost did everything right in the first leg,” he said.

“We played well despite the result not coming as we wanted. The task now is turn the several chances we created into purpose,” Micho added.

Apart from Tom Masiko, it was full house as training resumed. Moses Waiswa, Simon Serunkuuma and Nicholas Kasozi who did not travel with the team to Sudan also trained.

Uganda takes on South Sudan in the return leg on Saturday 22nd July at Philip Omodi stadium.

The winner on aggregate will play either Rwanda or Tanzania in the final hurdle to determine the team that represent East Africa at the 2018 Championship of African Nations in Kenya.
