Uganda Martyrs’ University (UMU) Nkozi and Uganda Christian University (UCU) settled for a draw in the second quarter final game played on Tuesday at Nkozi play ground.
The two Christian based universities drew 1-1 in the first leg of the quarter finals with hosts Nkozi taking the lead through Owori Douglas but a second half goal from a penalty salvaged a point for the Mukono based side.
Owori gave Uganda Martyrs’ University an early lead two minutes after kickoff to send a fully parked Nkozi ground into a frenzy.
The visitors then piled pressure on Nkozi’s defence and Aziku Joshua almost levelled matters eight minutes later but goalkeeper Herman Sekyewa swayed off his attempt for a corner.

The visitors levelled matters in the 55th minute through Joshua Kigozi who converted from a penalty after UMU defender Mahad Ssemanda handled the ball in the forbidden area.
The two sides will play the return leg in two weeks’ time with UCU hosting UMU in Mukono.
Action resumes next week with Busitema University taking on Kampala University on Wednesday while Gulu University will host Nkumba University.
