UCU Student Remanded for Theft


Raphael Vueni the Kabale grade one magistrate has remanded a 23 year old Bishop Bahram University college, illness Kabale student over theft.

Prosecution told court that Felix Nahurira, pharmacy a second year student at the Kabale based college – a constituent college of Uganda Christian College – withdrew money from a colleague’s back account.

Nahurira allegedly committed the offense on May 15th when he stole an ATM card from one of his fellow students Charles Kasimbazi and withdrew Shs 1million via Kabale’s Centenary Bank Branch.

Court was told that after taking the money he fled to Kampala where he spent it with his girlfriend before he returned home.

When the charge was read for him he pleaded guilty, asking court to be pardoned.

The magistrate remanded him to Ndorwa government prison till today 23rd May 2016 when he will give his ruling on the case.
