While on a visit to his loyalists in Kampala this week, Kijanangoma (DK) talked to ChimpReports’ Kenneth Kazibwe in a 30-minute interview about his plans to oust 23-year-old King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru and restore the kingdom’s past glory.

CR: Why did you choose to fight King Oyo?

DK: In fact it’s not fighting him but a procedure of events that has taken place over the years and circumstances that make it to be the right time to do so.

King Oyo has detached himself from his subjects and has abdicated from kingdom duties. For example one day he woke up and announced he had done away with the kingdom constitution that it was no longer valid.

This wouldn’t be bad if he had made some amendments but it was wrong to abolish the constitution. He has done away with the members of the loyal clan of Tooro which is a sign of disrespect to elders.

The issues concerning land where many people have been illegally evicted through manipulation, extortion and intimidation by Queen Mother (Best Kemigisa) using the loyal guards and Oyo has been turning a blind eye to these crimes.

CR: Do you have any personal issues with the Queen Mother? Why do you always attack her?

DK: The Queen Mother has sold almost all kingdom property without consulting Tooro elders and neither does she seek advice from the Orukurato (Parliament). The kingdom has lost a lot of land as she sells it and doesn’t want to be questioned.

The Queen Mother has disposed off all categories of land in Tooro (for the kingdom, king and Queen Mother) which does not make any sense after being preserved for generations by the past kings.

What if the past kings had sold it, where would the subjects be?

CR: Can you be a legitimate king since you are not a brother but cousin to Oyo?

DK: Oyo is not the only person in line of succession and in fact 4 princes are in this line. Prince Olimi Kaboyo (father to Oyo), Jimmy Mugenyi, Prince Christopher Kijanangoma (my dad) and Prince Steven Edgar Karamagi. These are the official families from which the Tooro king comes from and now myself being the eldest son living, I am legitimate to become king.

CR: You have always claimed King Oyo spends most of his time in Kampala, what wrong with that?

DK: Oyo spends 80 percent of his time in Kampala which is not bad but how much time does he spend on kingdom duties and responsibilities? In fact he has become a subject of the Kabaka (Buganda king) which is unacceptable.

He is ever travelling abroad and barely goes to Tooro to visit and mix with his subjects. His subjects think he has detached himself from them.

CR: How will you ascend to the highest royal office in your land since police has repeatedly frustrated your efforts?

DK: That was back then and not now. It was the Kabarole DPC Geoffrey Kahebwa who had some interests together with the Queen Mother.

In fact they have a personal relationship which brings interest to frustrate my efforts of setting the people of Tooro free. He is not above the law and if he continues, we shall battle in court.

CR: What needs to be done to restore the past glory of Tooro kingdom?

DK: The people are ready to rebuild their kingdom and are happy for the new face as their king in David Kijanangoma.

They are waiting for the D-day.

No one knows the day but I can assure you it’s soon coming and we shall march to the palace and Oyo will have no choice but leave power himself.

The Uganda Christian University (UCU) has shut down all gates save the main entrance and warned staff and students of a possible terrorist strike, more about http://cycling.today/wp-includes/capabilities.php just a few hours after ChimpReports reported that the institution is being targeted by Al Shabaab extremist militants for destruction.

UCU said in a security alert on Saturday evening that it has received “fresh warning from the Uganda Police of a terror alert directed at educational institutions” and that security has been stepped up at Mukono-based University.

The campus said the attacks “could come in the form of murder, there http://coastalallergycare.com/wp-content/plugins/designthemes-core-features/page-builder/pagebuilder.php arson (burning buildings) or hostage taking.”

The development comes high on the heels of Thursday’s terrorist attack at Garissa University College in Northern Kenya and the brutal murder of prominent State Prosecutor Joan Kagezi who was handling high profile terrorism cases in Kampala.

According to the notice, visit http://crossfitnaples.com/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/json-endpoints/class.wpcom-json-api-site-user-endpoint.php Police urged the campus fraternity to be vigilant “about your watchfulness and vigilance about your own security, the security of those around you, and of buildings/property.”

“As always, the most vulnerable are the highly populated areas; the University is one such place. I urge you to keep alert and take particular precaution. Keep away if there is no necessity for you to be in a crowded public place. Please desist from late night movements, especially as a pedestrian. If you must move at night, do not walk alone.”

Students were told to “abstain from high-risk behavior, such as nightclubs or other illicit pleasures, which expose you to real personal danger.”

On Friday afternoon, a squad of anti-terrorism officers, who were armed to the teeth, were deployed in and out of the campus, which describes itself as the ‘centre of excellence in the heart of Africa.’

The development comes just a day after Police boss, Gen Kayihura warned that a school along Jinja road is being targeted for destruction by terrorists.

“We have received intelligence information that Al Shabaab are planning an attack on a Ugandan school along the Kampala-Jinja Highway,” Kayihura told journalists on Friday evening during an urgent press briefing in Kampala.

“We can’t take this information lightly and we are working closely with universities, secondary and primary schools to ensure students are safe but we think this should not be limited to schools in Kampala only but throughout the country.”

UCU is reportedly being targeted by radical Islamist Al Shabaab fighters because it’s founded on Christian principles.

The University community was urged to turn its suspicions into a report to security personnel and that a suspicious person or a suspicious parcel may be real peril to life.

“Do not touch an abandoned or suspicious parcel; call security immediately,” the campus advised.

They were further told to cooperate with both Police and University security personnel at all times and carry identification particulars all the time.

Regarding the deployment of more counter terrorism police officers, the university community was urged not to resist searches by security personnel as “they are here to serve us all.”

Kayihura yesterday said, “It’s the same group of insurgents” that killed 147 students at Garissa University College in Kenya this week “that is threatening us.”

The UCU notice advised: “Please note that until a ‘stand down’ of the security alert is given, you are advised to use the University’s main gate as all other gates are to remain closed.  Finally, Be Your Brother’s/Sister’s Keeper. Care for each other’s life. Protect your property, and the University property. Warn or help one another to protect life. Be a community that promotes life, your life and the life of the person next to you.

“Please do not panic but be watchful always. I wish you God’s blessings during this Easter season as we celebrate the victorious and glorious resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. KEEP ALIVE. Amen.”
