Up to 15 people in Ibanda District in western Uganda are lined up for the MP seat which became available with the elevation of the town into a municipality.

The other tycoons contemplating to join the race include Tarsus Rwaburindore who also owns a number of buildings in Ibanda town and in Kampala; Ignatius Igundura the public affairs manager Civil Aviation Authority and Dr. Julius Bamwine who is currently the Ibanda District Health Officer.
