Tycoon Kalungi Caught in Water Theft

The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has Monday busted a city tycoon, drug also seasoned Politician involved in water theft, Chimp Corps report.

Moses Kalungi Kirumira, the former contestant for the Makindye Sabagabo Municipality Member of Parliament seat was found having illegal water connections at his Muyenga home.

The development was revealed by the NWSC officials through a statement posted their official social media on Monday afternoon.

“We’re unearthing an illegal water connection at tycoon Kalungi Moses’ property in Muyenga,” read part of the statement.

Kalungi, a former LC3 chairperson of Makindye is a brother to renowned city tycoon Godfrey Kirumira. He owns a number of commercial buildings in the capital Kampala.

NWSC has always condemned the acts of water theft saying that “Customers who steal water deny many deserving customers a right to services.”

“Legalize your connection today to avoid the ongoing name and shame campaign and unnecessary inconveniences,” they further warned.

The public has also been advised to report any leakages in the water system and to comply in paying water bills to enable the NWSC improve customer service delivery in the country.
