Police has arrested two more suspects in connection to the attack on the children of former Military Intelligence chief, order Jim Muhwezi and former Foreign Affairs Permanent Secretary, sales Ambassador James Mugume.
Nikko Mugume, ed son to Amb. Mugume and Sandra Muhwezi, daughter to Jim Muhwezi were attacked and assaulted by iron bar wielding hitmen in Mbarara Town on Easter Eve before being robbed of their property.
The duo was attacked from Kizungu zone while leaving Club Vegas, a popular hang out in Mbarara.
Nikko was beaten up, sustained a broken jaw, shattered ribs and fractured leg.
Police Spokesperson Asan Kasingye confirmed the arrest of Yusuf Turyagyenda and Peter Kakye, both of whom were picked from Kabale.
According to Kasingye, Turyagyenda admitted to the commission of the Easter offences while Kakye was found with some of the stolen items which he claimed to have bought.
Earlier in April, Police arrested another suspect, Farouk Musa in connection to the same.
He was picked from Mbarara town on Friday April 28th.
Kasingye said “the Police will continue with the resolve to arrest and completely bring to an end the current wave of criminality in affected parts of our country.”
