KCCA FC vs Tusker FC

Kenyan Premier League champions, Tusker Football Club arrived safely in Uganda ahead of the friendly game against Uganda premier league defending champions KCCA FC.
Tusker arrived in Kampala on Thursday at 9:30 aboard a commuter bus and were welcomed by KCCA FC CEO, Mr. David Tamale at the Uganda Cultural centre (National theatre).
The brewers arrived with a 30 man contingent including players and coaching staff.
Head coach Paul “Latest” Nkata upon arrival stated that it is a great opportunity for his side to gauge themselves against the champions of another country.
“It is a great opportunity for us to play against KCCA, they are a great team with talented players,” he said.
“The game comes at a time when we have just won the league, so it gives us a chance to gauge ourselves against KCCA, champions in Uganda,” Nkata added.
However, Tusker come with a depleted squad with several key players missing.
Skipper James Situma has not travelled to Kampala due to an injury, while goalkeeper Martin Musalia did not also make the trip to Uganda.
Striker Allan Wanga too didn’t travel with the team because he was not in the country at the moment.
By the time of reporting, midfielder Humphrey Mieno who was supposed to take on the captaincy in the absence of Situma had also not yet arrived but the coach told ChimpSport that the exciting midfielder is on way to Kampala.
Defender Shafik Batambuze who is in the country and trained with the national team on Wednesday will join Tusker’s camp later on Thursday.
The team was taken to Nob view hotel, Ntinda where they will reside for the next three days and are expected to have light training at Phillip Omondi stadium on Thursday evening.
The game is dubbed the clash of champions is slated for Saturday at the Phillip Omondi stadium.
