Ibrahim Sekagya’s club New York Red Bulls II are the double winners of the 2016 United Soccer League (USL) regular and overall season.
The team defeated debutants Swope Park Rangers by 5-1 in a one sided final played Sunday at the Red Bull Arena. The victory makes Sekagya’s side the first MLS owned and operated USL team to win the USL Cup Final.

The result completes Red Bulls (2) fourteen game unbeaten streak with only a single draw on the road that dates back to early August 2015.
Red Bull II claimed the regular season after accumulating 69 points, seventeen ahead of Western conference leaders Sacramento Republic.
They also boast of the Longest winning run (7games) of the season which stretched from August 2 to September 7th.
