Mbarara residents were last weekend gripped by shock after a university student tragically fell off the balcony of a city joint.
Alex Rukaara, prostate http://corcoranproductions.com/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/templates/emails/email-header.php son to Robert Rukaara a prominent businessman on Mbaguta Street in Mbarara fell off the balcony at Sabb’s Bar & Restaurant Food Parlor located on Bananuka Drive.
The youngster was rushed in critical condition to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital where he died on arrival.
Reports say that Alex on New Year’s Sunday morning at around 1pm was playing pool at the bar and decided to sit on the rings of the balcony where he lost balance and fell to the ground.
“He was rushed to Mbarara Hospital by his brother whom he had at the restaurant, but died in the morning of Sunday,” a close friend revealed
Alex was studying at Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) and was set to graduate in February this year.
The DPC Mbarara Jaffar Magyezi confirmed the tragedy but said the cause of Alex’s death is not yet confirmed and police investigations are ongoing.
In other news, Traffic Police in Mbarara on Sunday night arrested 14 people including 2 Muslims, for allegedly driving while drunk in the Fika Salaama operation conducted during the New Year celebrations.
The Rwizi regional traffic boss, Patrick Mungasa said that the arrested were picked around Mbarara town on December 31st during the New Year celebrations.
Mungasa adds that the Fika Salama operation will continue to ensure road safety through the New Year.
