Traffic Police Shake-up as Museveni Condemns ‘Corrupt White Angels’

Dozens of senior traffic officers have been moved in a fresh reshuffle seen as aimed at cleaning the rotten institution.
In a Thursday radio call announced by Deputy Inspector General of Police, here Okoth Ochola, several Kampala traffic police chiefs have been transferred to distant areas especially North and North Eastern Uganda.
The reshuffle came against the backdrop of President Museveni’s complaints that the force has been infiltrated by criminals.
In specific reference to traffic police, Museveni told journalists at his demonstration farm this week that “officers wearing white uniform” continue to engage in acts of bribery despite looking like angels.
Museveni the officers wear white uniform which should be a symbol of purity only to engage in corruption.
