Torres, Shaban on Target as Cranes Win Charity Match in Nakasongola

Uganda Cranes regained their winning touch at the local scene with a 4-1 victory over Nakasongola select side in a charity match played on Saturday afternoon at St. Lawrence P/s Migyera.

The team had failed to win two consecutive tours against west Nile and Eastern sides losing and drawing 1-0 and 1-1 respectively.

KCCA FC forward Derrick Nsibambi opened the game with a beautiful fifth minute header off Ochaya’s delivery.

2015/16 FUFA Big league top scorer Edrisa ‘Torres’ Lubega continued his prowess with a brace inside ten minutes in the 23rd and 33rd to triple Cranes lead to the break.

Onduparaka’s Muhammad Shabaan completed the route five after the interval with a brilliant finish.

The hosts pulled one back through a penalty courtesy of Stephen Wokorach 48th minute penalty.

The match was organized to raise funds to improve the maternity ward at Nakasongola health centre IV. All the proceeds from the gate collection are expected to be directed towards the noble cause.

Cranes boss Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic used to squads in each half with Hassan Waswa Mawanda representing the foreign legion.
