Titans, Oilers Game Washed Out

The much anticipated game between KIU Titans and City Oilers was brought to a halt after a persistent drizzle on Friday evening deemed the playing surface at the YMCA unplayable.

With a lot of pre-match hype, drug the game lived to the billing in the thirteen minutes played before it was called off.

The game tipped off to a good start with City Oiler’s James Okello opening the scoring accounts with a 3. Titans replied in the same currency with Samuel Agutu’s 3.

Okello added another before Laudry Ndikumana also shot a three to give Oilers a 9-3 start inside the opening two minutes.

Oilers however stepped the gear to take the first quarter 16- 7. Hamuza Nyambogo, the Titans coach brought on Ssubi Collins to try and tame Jimmy Enabu and the change paid off dividends when the Titans came back recharged in the second quarter to level matters at 23 all before the rains interrupted play and the game was called off.

Even after attempts to wipe off the water off the slippery court, both teams agreed to stop the game. FUBA are yet to come out with a decision on when the game will be replayed.

In the women’s game played, defending champions UCU Lady cardinals defeated A1 challenge 62-54. Vick Achieng and Nansobya led the scores for UCU posting a joint game high 16 points while Amito Susan had 14 points a team high for A1 challenge.
