Police in Isingiro are hunting for criminals suspected to have stolen cows from the farm belonging to Animal Industry Minister Hon. Bright Rwamirama.

Regional Police spokesperson Ibin Ssenkumbi confirmed that the thieves took about 20 cows from the farm situated in Kamushoko village, http://centerforblackbelt.org/wp-admin/includes/deprecated.php in Kabingo Sub County in Isingiro district

Ssenkumbi said the cows were packed in an unidentified truck.

Police, he said, is vigorously hunting for the truck which was last spotted on Kaguta Road.

Ssenkumbi said that since November last year, cattle theft in the area had dropped following the deployment of the anti livestock unit and the Police Flying Squad that have been instrumental in preventing and arresting livestock thieves.

“From November we have arrested over 30 people, rescued over 50 cows and about 50 goats” he noted

However Ssenkumbi warned the farmers to be conscious about the managers, especially those who come outside the region.
