Security agencies have received intelligence information to the effect that terrorists are planning to hit Entebbe International Airport and other unidentified places during the swearing-in ceremony of President Yoweri Museveni.

Deputy Police spokesperson Polly Namaye told press today that police received information of an imminent attack on the country and confirmed this might happen during the inauguration ceremony.

Asked whether the attack is targeting dignitaries who will be attending the swearing in ceremony, Namaye said she could not confirm but added, “We have deployed accordingly at all places including the airport to thwart the attack.”
She asked the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious objects and persons to authorities.
“We know the most important tool in fighting terrorism is the public eye. Public places like hotels, markets among others that had relaxed should resume thorough security checks at the entrances,” Namaye warned.
