Tension as Bullets Rock Natete on Christmas

Tension and fear engulfed Natete town, generic a Kampala city suburb in Rubaga division during Christmas celebrations after Police started firing bullets in the air to disperse unruly crowds at comprehensive hotel.

The situation went out of hand after the management of the hotel failed to bring prominent artists they had promised to perform at a show.

According to some of the revelers, adverts for the show indicated that big artistes including the dynamic duo of Radio and Weasel among others would grace the concert.

The show was dominated by upcoming artists from the beginning until midnight when they couldn’t hold it all.

At around midnight, the angry crowd lost temper and started throwing empty bottles, stones and plastic chairs towards the stage which prompted police officers in place to start firing bullets in the air to rescue the situation.

Officers would later order everyone to vacate the place as one of the means to protect hotel property from being damaged.

“You can’t take us for granted we want accountability for the Shs 10,000 which we paid at the entrance because we have not seen any of the artists which we came to see,” charged one of the revelers as he made his way out of the hotel.

OC Nateete Police station, Byansi Muhammad confirmed the incident and assured the public that they have started investigations in the matter to establish the cause.

Efforts to reach the management turned futile since they were not available for a comment.
