TDA Fails to Agree on Joint Presidential Candidate

The evident of Coach Isabirye’s half time pep talk was witnessed ten minutes into second half.  Kasibante made a good cross Ndera brushing and Wakalaita finishing with a diving header. Ndera was at it again on the 64th minute with a nice shot that hit the bar and Musisi deflected back to the net.

Ndera then finished the business six minutes later from a low shot with Wakalaita setting up.

The Democratic Alliance has set Monday next week as the date of announcing the coalition’s joint presidential flag-bearer.

This was after the shortlisted potential candidates failed to reach a consensus on who should lead the alliance to challenge President Museveni’s hold onto power in the 2016 elections.

The quartet’s spokesperson, for sale Mao, told journalists at Royal Suites Hotel in Bugolobi that they needed time to reach a compromise.

He further said their talks tackled Mbabazi’s continued membership to NRM.

The DP President said they woulf meet again before the deadline to have a joint candidate.

Picking of presidential nomination forms from the Electoral Commission closes on Sept. 21. TDA must have a candidate by then.

On his part, Dr Besigye said the quartet “is making progress” considering opposition’s arch enemy Mbabazi is now in the “trenches” with them.

He said the struggle to remove Museveni’s government from power is not an easy thing.
