Summit to Explore Effects of Social Media on Business

Panelists at the Inaugural Social Media Summit

Preparations are in high gear for the annual summit that aims to identify, unhealthy share, train and advance the use of social media in corporate, businesses, public and non-profit sectors.

Following on the highly successful inaugural Summit event in November 2014, this year’s Social Media Summit will take place on Thursday at Golf Course Hotel.

The summit will explore the bottom line impact that social media has on culture, sports, business and the larger society under the theme “Social Means Business”.

It has attracted over 20 speakers and panelists and will have 10 sessions across the day.

The keynote speakers include Brownen Auret, an intrapreneur with 15 years experience in digital publishing, media and marketing, Philip Ogola, digital humanitarian, Mark Kaigwa, one of Forbes 30 under 30 Best Young Entrepreneurs in Africa, and Marvin Bisanga, Digital Account Manager with AIM group in Tanzania.

The summit will focus on the business of social media, how it can affect the organization or businesses bottom line while generating tangible and measurable value, according to Collins Mugume the Summit Director,

“This year the discussion will focus on how Social Media is affecting communication strategies, how brands are engaging with the consumers in real time as well as how it is impacting on expansion and growth of companies,” Mugume said.
