Fufa has confirmed that a section of Uganda Cranes players have started receiving their bonuses as promised by President Yoweri Museveni a few weeks ago.

The president hosted the gallant team to a state bouquet two days before the world cup qualifier against Congo Brazzaville and promised to clear their arrears.

“The President (Museveni) promised to clear the pending bonuses which the federation had promised players and coaches for qualification,” Hussein said.
“We have got information that the players and coaches have started receiving the money transfers in their bank accounts but we haven’t known exactly who has received and those that have not.”
There was uncertainty surrounding the bounty promised whether all who played a part in the qualifications were eligible for the same share.
“We submitted a list of 34 players who took part in the whole campaign just like state house had requested, so we are not sure of the details.”
Hussein further promised that the federation will follow up the matter with officials at state house to confirm those players and coaches who have received the bonuses and then release an official statement on the same.
