Following its dedication to educating students in its recently concluded Stanbic National Schools Championships, Stanbic Bank Uganda has been nominated in the Digital impact awards Africa under “Best Promoter of Financial Literacy”.
Stanbic bank was nominated for improving student’s problem solving skills, building confidence, refining their presentation skills and equipping them with critical and creative thinking skills.
In a post that was publishde on their social media platform, the bank administration announced the nomination noting that they were dedicated to continue with the Stanbic National Schools Championships projects because of the opportunities it presented to young people.
They called upon everyone to support and vote for them.
“We are therefore delighted to be nominated in the category of ‘best promoter of financial literacy’ in the digital impact awards Africa #DIAA2017 and ask that you vote for us to win,” part of the statement reads.
DIAA are continental awards that look to recognize and reward people and companies that have created a great impact in the lives of people.
In this year’s National schools championships, over 40 schools participated and two students from Maryhill High School in Mbarara had emerged winners for their innovative saving SACCO.
The award ceremony will be preceded by the Digital and Financial Expo, which is scheduled for 21-22 September 2017 at Kampala Serena Hotel.
