Uganda Cranes forward Geoffrey Sserunkuma began his stay at Zambian Premier League side Buildcon on a good note.
Despite featuring for a few minutes, Sserunkuma registered a positive debut as his new team won 2-1 on Wednesday.
Buildcon needed a second half comeback display to edge past hard fighting Green Buffaloes FC in the game played at the Stanley Imboela stadium.
Three Ugandans were part of the Buildcon team with defender Isaac Isinde starting the game while Geoffrey Sserunkuma came on as a late substitute.
The other Ugandan, Boban Zirintusa who is also a new recruit was an unused substitute.
Assistant coach John Lungu took charge in the dugout with head coach Hicham Jadrine away due to private engagements.
Geoffrey Sserunkuma featured for a few minutes coming on as a substitute in the 84th minute replacing Jonas Sakuwaha.
Despite going down to Friday Sam’s goal in the first half, Buildcon put up a resuscitated performance in the second half to claim victory.
Fidele Bosandja and John Mark Makwata scored in the 47th and in the 74th minute respectively to help Buildcon win 2-1.
The result moved them to 10th place on 29 points and their next game will be an away encounter against Kabwe Warriors on Saturday.
