Ssentongo and Four others Renew their Contracts at URA FC

Unique Sports Academy on Monday lifted the Mama Janet Kataha Museveni sponsored Kabale Women Football Tournament after defeating Laliga Football Club by 1 – 0.

The finals were played at Kabala Stadium where Dianah Kamusiime in the 30th minute of the game beat three defenders to slot in the lone goal.

The First Lady was represented at the function by the State Minister of Education in charge of sports Charles Bakabulindi.

Moses Gumisiriza the organizer of the tournament said the tournament was aimed at exploiting the talents of the young girls in the district as well as encouraging pregnant mothers to embrace antenatal care.

The two weeks football tournament has been going on in the municipality where eight teams took part.
Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club has officially announced that five of their key players have renewed their contracts for two years in undisclosed deals that will see them around until at least June 2017.

“Am delighted to have renewed my contract with URA FC for the next two years. I have been with the team for the last eight years and there is a lot more I have to do. I promise to do my best next season,” a joyful Allan Munaaba said.

URA Fc performed dismally in the recent concluded season finishing fourth in the league with 53 points, sixteen behind winners Vipers SC and failing to defend their Cup trophy leading to being eliminated in the early stages. The team parted ways with coach Alex Isabirye (now at Bul Fc) who was replaced by Moses Basena and Kefa Kisala as assistant.

“We are delighted that the five have signed new contracts. They are young talented players with a great vision for the club and we believe they will be instrumental in the team’s success next season,” assistant coach Kisala said.
