South Sudan Rebels Face Massive Defection

Dr Riek Machar

South Sudan rebel movement (SPLA-IO), symptoms http://crosswordfiend.com/blog/wp-includes/customize/class-wp-customize-background-image-setting.php under the command of former Vice President Riek Machar, no rx http://chaosoffroad.com/wp-content/plugins/tubepress/src/main/web/php/ajaxendpoint.php has spoken out on the defection of two dissident generals to the government.

Brigadier Generals Michael Paul Dak and Mun Bach Thoch and Colonel Dobuol Wuor Diew, cheapest http://consultants-lactation.org/wp-includes/class.wp-styles.php all from Gajaak of Maiwut and Longechuk counties, broke ranks with SPLA-IO to join the mainstream SPLA this weekend.

The move underscored the fragility of Machar’s rebel movement as President Salva Kiir tightens his hold on power.

The Deputy Spokesperson SPLA-IO, Major Dickson Gatluak Jock, told ChimpReports on Sunday that “the claimed officers are not even known in our military camps or assigned in Pagak General Headquarters.”

He further stated that the officers were “dismissed from SPLM/A-IO long time ago along with General Taban and they have been roaming around all this time between Kule One Refugees camp and Gambella of Ethiopia since they got no chance to reach Juba where their master bases.”

South Sudan has been grappling with a civil war that has left thousands dead and millions displaced.

Peace talks between President Kiir and Machar brought temporary peace before gunfire broke out again on July 8, 2016, at the presidential palace.

Machar would later flee to exile where he threatened to continue military operations against the state.

The renewed violence captured the world’s attention as nearly 90,000 refugees have subsequently fled to Uganda.

The vast majority, more than 85 percent are women and children, making this as much a crisis of South Sudan’s future as of its present.
