The Uganda U21 netball team settled for seventh place as the World Netball Youth Cup came to an end on Sunday in Gaborone, Botswana.
The She Pearls defeated Scotland 55-42 to end the campaign that had 20 nations compete in 7th place.
Forwards (goal attacker and goal shooter) Zam Seera and Irene Eyaru were instrumental as Uganda edged past Scotland.
Uganda topped Pool C with 3 wins and one lose but narrowly lost to Fiji 39-37 in the quarterfinals.
The team went ahead to lose to South Africa in another classification game.
Therefore, the She Pearls played a total of 7 games at the tournament, winning 4 and losing 3.
New Zealand successfully defended the crown defeating Australia 60-57 in the finals.
The Kiwi nation needed a resuscitated performance in the final two quarters to overcome a resilient Australian side.
This meant, New Zealand won their fourth title adding to the 2013, 2005 and 1992 championships.
Australia’s Jamie-Lee Price was named the Most valuable player at the tournament.
