School Proprietor Arrested For Defiling Own Pupil

Police in Lira district are holding the proprietor of a primary school on allegations of defiling a pupil of his school.

North Kioga Police spokesperson David Ongom Mudong   identifies the suspect as Geoffrey Odaga the Director of Crane Junior Nursery and Primary school situated in Jinja Camp, information pills Ojwina division, there Lira municipality.

Ongom says the school director reportedly impregnated his 13year old pupil of Primary Six and also attempted unsuccessfully to procure her an abortion.

The police spokesperson says Odaga was arrested after the girl intimated to his father that he repeatedly sexually assaulted her leading to pregnancy.

He says detectives are still interrogating the school proprietor after which he will be subjected to an HIV test before being arraigned before court on charges of aggravated defilement.

Teachers at the school who requested anonymity revealed that this is not the first time that the school director is facing accusations related to sexually abusing his female learners.

They disclose that a parent last year transferred his daughter away from the school after reports circulated that his child was being preyed on by the school director

Lira Resident District Commissioner Robert Abak says that he ordered the arrest of the educationist after intelligence information indicated that the suspect intended to flee the district.

Abak adds that they are also investigating reports that the suspect attempted to bribe police officers with an unspecified amount of money in order to kill off the case.
