School Burns as Students Attend Museveni’s Rally

Police have commenced investigations into circumstances under which fire gutted St Kirigwaijo Secondary School dormitory on Wednesday morning in Kibaale District while students and administrators were waiting for President Museveni to address a rally at Bujuni Primary School Grounds.

The school head teacher, Rev Fr Andrew Nsaali Mukasa told ChimpReports on Friday morning that said that all the students had left for president Museveni’s campaign rally when fire razed the dormitory to the ground.

Museveni was in the area to campaign for NRM flag-bearer Noelin Kisembo Basemera for woman MP Kibaale district.

Investigators are yet to establish the cause of the fire but can’t rule out sabotage.

“Investigations are still underway to establish what spared off the fire. We suspect house wiring problem or appliance failure,” Mukasa told this website.

Police Fire Brigade tried unsuccessfully to put out the fire as flames ravaged the building.

While campaigning in the area, Museveni urged locals to avoid tribalism and engage in productive commercial activities for the area’s prosperity.
