Rwanda: YouthConnekt Ministers to Young Entrepreneurs

Maria Kamikazi, check pharmacy a young entrepreneur and CEO of Anganzi Ltd, viagra information pills a company that turns waste into valuable products has advised her fellows in Rwanda to research on various businesses and get ideas on starting up their own so they can contribute to the country’s development. This she said during the bi-monthly YouthConnekt Hangout that took place Tuesday evening.

“Research is important before anyone decides to create their own business. Start with what you know and put it in practice, physician ” Kamikazi said.

In order to inspire the youth, Kamikazi shared her story on how she started her company by collecting wastes around Kigali and turning them into various fashion wear. She further advised youth to embrace entrepreneurship without fearing the failure and try to look always for solutions

Kamikazi shares the same views with Robert Mwesigwa the Executive Secretary of National Youth Council who urges the youth to never fail to try as young entrepreneurs. He added on to say that youth should not fear to start business on a shoe-string budget because most big companies started small.

Mwesigwa advises youth to adopt the saving culture and join efforts to be able to create jobs, and strive for development.

YouthConnekt is a platform that connects innovative young Rwandans. In a bid to help with the country’s economic transformation, Rwanda’s Ministry of Youth and ICT (MYICT) in partnership with UNDP, ADMA, Tigo, and HeHeLabs started this platform to serve as a channel for youth, private sector, and government in order to address the challenges youth are facing in terms of employment and entrepreneurship.

YouthConnekt has a practical, results-oriented format that includes interactive, multi-stakeholder panel discussions, partnership announcements as well as opportunities for participants to showcase their ICT development projects to potential partners and donors.

The YouthConnekt Hangouts provide an excellent networking platform for leaders from the public, private and financial sectors to meet and forge new partnerships for the future.

The hangouts focus on different themes such as youth employment, entrepreneurship and youth access to finance, ICT4D, environment, investment promotion.
